Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series Event at Lavonia Speedway Canceled Due to Impending Severe Weather from Hurricane Francine

MILTON, Fla. (Sept. 13, 2024) — Due to the high probability of severe weather from storms associated with Hurricane Francine, Friday’s Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series event at Lavonia Speedway has been canceled.

With no viable makeup dates available, the event will not be rescheduled. However, officials from both the series and the track are already exploring options to bring the Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series back to Lavonia in 2025.

Despite the rainout, excitement for the remaining events of the 2024 season remains high. With only six races left, the chase for the $50,000 HTF Series championship is heating up. Next weekend, the series will head to Thunderhill Raceway in Summertown, Tenn., for a highly anticipated doubleheader Sept. 20-21. Following that, Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, Ala., will host another doubleheader Oct. 4-5 during its annual Fall NASCAR weekend. The 2024 season will conclude with a massive doubleheader at I-75 Raceway in Sweetwater, Tenn., Nov. 1-2.

Brandon Overton of Evans, Ga., leads the series standings with two victories on this year’s tour. Also a two-time winner this year, Sam Seawright of Fort Payne, Ala., is just 68 points behind Overton in second, while Ashton Winger of Hampton, Ga., sits third, 94 points out of the lead. With one win each, Zack Mitchell of Enoree, S.C., and Joseph Joiner of Milton, Fla., are tied for fourth in the standings, 122 points behind Overton.
