Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series Places Seawright and Putnam on Probation Following Incidents at Duck River and Senoia

MILTON, Fla. (Aug. 23, 2024) — The Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series announced Friday that drivers Sam Seawright and Josh Putnam, along with their respective race teams, have been placed on probation by the series for the remainder of the tour’s 2024 season. This action comes in response to incidents that occurred during series events at Duck River Raceway Park on Aug. 3 and Senoia Raceway on Aug. 18.

Following a thorough review, series officials determined that the actions of both Seawright and Putnam during these events violated the series' Conduct rule, specifically Section 9.4 of the Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series rulebook. This section addresses "deliberate acts of aggression," and states:

"Any incidents that are judged to be 'deliberate acts of aggression,' whether on or off the track, under green, caution, or after the conclusion of the event, will result in penalties being applied up to and including disqualification at the discretion of series officials."

Both Seawright and Putnam were informed of the probation by phone on Monday and a meeting between series officials and both drivers was held prior to the start of Friday’s series race at Lake Cumberland Speedway.

The probationary status serves as a final warning to both drivers and their teams. Any further acts of aggression by Seawright, Putnam, or any member of their race teams—including car owners, crew members, or drivers and crew members of affiliated race teams—during any Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series event, will result in immediate and severe penalties. These penalties may include:

  1. Immediate disqualification of the driver and team from the event.
  2. A minimum 90-day suspension from all Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series competitions.
  3. Loss of points fund eligibility.
  4. Possible monetary fines.

As a DIRTcar-sanctioned series, any penalties issued by the Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series will extend to all DIRTcar-sanctioned events and World Racing Group events.

The Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series is committed to maintaining a competitive, yet respectful, racing environment. The series expects all participants to uphold the highest standards of sportsmanship both on and off the track.
